Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania, (GR)
The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania (Greece) is a constituent post-graduate Institute of the International Centre of Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM). The Center is is an intergovernmental organisation (thirteen member States) whose purpose is the development of scientific co-operation in the fields of economics, management, and applied biological, technological and environmental sciences, as related to rural areas. Realisation of this scientific co-operation is achieved mainly through the training of university graduates, future academics, executives, and researchers.
The Institute is financed by the Greek Government and European Union competitive funding programmes. The Mediterranean Agronomic Institutes at Bari (Italy), Montpellier (France) and Zaragoza (Spain) are also constituent Institutes of the same organisation.
The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute at Chania offers advanced training programmes leading to a: 1) Specialised Post-University Diploma (D.S.P.U), upon successful completion of the first academic year, and 2) Master of Science degree for D.S.P.U candidates admitted to the second academic year.
